She was a creature in a foreign kingdom,
a grasshopper dancing for rain.
She was the sweetest illusion,
for whom the world slightly began.
I would crawl into the shadows,
bind myself with her luscious oaths.
She would be my deathly meadow,
cover me with midnight drops.
