Poisoned Walls

Another day -
Another wish to fade away.

So take your pills and feel the warmth,
Your lake is smouldering
And now you're gone...

You are high
And you are low,
And inbetween into the lake
Your boiling spirit flows.
You borrow happiness
But soon enough
Sorrow will caress you,
Misery will undress you,
Forcing you
To make love to your nightmares.

Abandoned now,
Your eyes with pain are burning
And your demons and fears are leaking
Through the holes in your soul,
Patched so many times.
And when the seams burst
She'll come again,
She will lurk
Around every corner,
Under every bed,
And inside your head.
Hijacking your mind,
Reality's diluted,
Human voices become a blur,
And sense from insanity you can't tell.
It doesn't matter now
For you are
Tossed in her world
Of smoke lilies,
And birds of lead,
Fog of glass,
And of concrete trees.

Back in your room
Empty is your thorny bed,
Save for you -
Bleeding.
The happiness you borrowed disappears
The way it came -
Violently.
And you cry for help
Not uttering a sound.
So nobody comes
And your sanity drowns...

The walls are poisoned -
Weeping.
They whisper in forgotten tongues,
Telling secrets
That nobody knows.
And the voice in your head
Is louder than ever,
Little beast says you're dead -
That you belong to the Nether.

...So you die again,
Though your shell is still alive.
So nobody believes,
They think you're just fine.

And all the promises have left
Except the one to try again.
