Riding the Dragon

Some are truly blind to beauty,
others can't possibly fathom duty.
Some can't help but push the borders,
others are bound to issue and follow orders.

The two can rarely find common ground,
but in that balance true harmony is found.
Those who speak truth to both at once
are the masters of humanity's song and dance.

Those who thread the winding road
between order narrow and chaos broad
and themselves are exemplars of heroism
shall rescue the masses from deadly nihilism.

The leaders of tomorrow are like you and me,
but the elusive threads of fate they see.
Whoever can weave our instincts and fear
into a story can bring us laughter and tears.
