Something

Nothing will be left behind you
Nothing ever was
Nothing is your origin and
Nothing's your demise

All of life dissolves to nothing
New life must be lived
The experience of something
Never lasts supreme

Going fast or quitting first or
Somewhere in between
Fades away from memory in
Gaslights, which are dim

Nothing lasts and none remain and
All must be regained,
Battles fought through generations
Must be won again

Gold experience for someone
Cannot be transferred
All must dig into existence
Nothing to fulfill

Memory of something distant
Echoes through the books
It anew must be discovered
To exist in us

We cannot inherit something
But a map of thoughts
We must visit the locations,
Not rely on ghosts

Nothing will be left behind you
Nothing ever was
Nothing is your origin and
This tale is your last
