Singing Russian songs aloud,
Old Granny stuffs thick peppers round
with trembling hands and jumping heart
in a red-heated tube to bake them right
then takes them out whole and sound
burned and blackened - just the type
on a terrace meant for a noble
for a pickles named 'for the king'.
Sizzle-sizzle, smoke is thick
barefoot children jumping quick ...
