Before Dawn

An endless night, the light - unborn
That deepest dark at brink of dawn
The wind is fresh, the feeling - heavy
A heart that beats, a soul that's weary.

One lonely cry on someone's shoulder
The crave for love as world grows colder
A breath, a sigh... it's getting chilly
The road's so long - looks almost silly

The pace has stopped, the path is blurry
That nagging voice and urge of hurry
A forward look - the goal seems clear
But strength has failed, the price - too dear.

Stopped by all that's being hateful
The road is split, the choice - ungrateful
So can we pay and will we struggle
Or maybe vanish in a pile of rubble?.....

We've seen the sun, we know it's there
But could we dream and would we dare?
To spark a flame, to set the fire
And search, and reach for something higher?

The road feels right, yet so deserted
for a glance shows all who are diverted.
So could we stand and walk together
Relight the dream and get through Nether?
