Sober

Have I had tears before?

Don't remember. You taught me to cry.
Did I have eyes to adore
the sunrise, dusk and the sky?

Was there sun? I don't know.
And has the moon risen before?
Don't remember, if there was snow?
And what are these stars praying for?

When the wind brought me your name
I saw ... there are oceans and seas.
I didn't exist 'till you came.
You sober me up with your kiss.

Now I can hear a lovebird
with a thorn in its small, bleeding heart.
And I feel, as much as it hurt
the butterfly, when fire tore it apart.

I no longer need air to breathe.
If I breathe you in, I can survive.
I feel. My soul is now free.
Don't go. Please keep me alive.
